This marks the beginning of a slew of movie reviews that is dedicated to one specific actor/actress. Who’d I pick you say?

Adam Sandler

I know, I know…you either love him or really hate him. You should know that I really like his work especially his earlier stuff. He’ll probably never win an Academy Award, but his movies are quotable and certain scenes are always memorable.

First review is this classic:

Billy Madison (1995)

There were a ton of hilarious moments in this movie with some really cheesy parts that they could have done without i.e. the musical scene in the pool.

So basically this movie is about a grown man in Billy Madison that is as immature as they come and lives off his father’s riches. His father is the guy who played the dad in the classic movie A Christmas Story (the late Darren McGavin). Madison was spoiled nearly all his life and just coasts through his everyday life with his buddies played by Norm Macdonald, Chris Farley, and another fat dude.

Let’s see…their ideas of fun are filling a paper bag with dog crap, lighting it on fire, and putting it on Old Man Clemens doorstep. Why?...Because they know he’ll put the fire out with his boots. Another time they are eating at a burger joint and throw the pickles on the window to see which one will slide down the furthest. Sounds stupid huh? Well it is…

So the main plot in this movie is that Billy and his dad get into an argument where his dad revealed that he paid off all of his teachers to get him through school K-12. They make a bet that he’ll have to redo every grade within a certain time frame and graduate all on his own. If he does, he can take over his father’s business. Easy or just dorky? Well there is a villain of sorts (Eric) that tries to prevent Billy from completing this daunting task so he can take over Billy’s father’s company instead. It’s funny seeing these two ass-clowns go at it throughout the entire movie.

I’m telling you…the humor of this movie is mostly based off the one liners or jokes that make you scratch your head and say ‘WTF’ and laugh.

Chlorophyll???

Pick it up on DVD or just want till it comes on cable…you gotta watch it at least once. Just preview one of the scenes here:
