The new season of American Idol is finally here. The first auditions were held in the city of Boston. It all started with a reminder of last year's year finale and a brief mention of the whole Paula Abdul thing. Then Ryan Seacrest introduced Boston as the "city of champions" with the background shot of the Fenway Park. Ok...If I remember correctly - I think the Bronx was the city of CHAMPIONS. The New York Yankees won the 2009 World Series - IDIOT.

Anyways, the show began with guest judge Victoria Beckham sitting in Paula's old seat and the rest of the judges. I don't understand why the even invited her. She really doesn't have any singing talent. How can she help scout talent when she lacks it? I think she is sending out a bad message to young girls by sitting there. Victoria is an alright looking lady but she is SO skinny. Seriously, she needs to pack on a little weight. Young girls have so many eating disorders because they have an image that being skinny is picture perfect. But that's something else to write about. I didn't see a connection with her and the rest of the judges. Oh well show must go on.

The contestants began to sing. A lot of them were forgettable and rude while others were actually good, had stage presence and are worthy enough to be mentioned. Ashley Rodriguez sang "If I Had You" from Alicia Keys in her own way. I loved her! She looked like a sweet girl and has the look and the voice to carry her on the competition. Simon agreed with me- "Some people have got it, and I think you may have it. " Mike Davis who had the Codzilla speedboat job also made it to Hollywod.

Maddy Curtis , the ninth child of 12 children also moved on. She had a touching story that made you think and see life in a different aspect. She had a brother with Down syndrome and her family decided to adopt 3 other boys with Down so that he wouldn't feel left out. In the footage, American Idol showed, it showed here playing and having fun. A true inspiring story for those who take life for granted.

Stayed tuned for Week 1- Day 2.

What ever gave 'Posh' spice the credibility to be a judge? She can't sing her way out a paperbag. Her face is all sucked in...looks like a tanned crypt-keeper. eww

Mary J as a judge last night was decent tho.
