Will Brock Lesnar really return in the summer of 2010? If he does, how effective will he be? I guess the reports said he dropped down to about 248lbs? A report on MSN.com said Lesnar claimed he wasn't that small since the second grade? Are you kidding me?
Let's see how old were we in the 2nd grade? 7 or 8? I doubt I weighed much more than 75lbs then. 248? Come on man...I'd like to know more about Lesnar and his childhood. SO was he your traditional fat kid that got bullied and picked on until he hit the height growth spurt to fill out his tall frame? Then he found wrestling and paid those bullies back or he in fact became the bully? What is this a Lifetime movie in the making?
Either way, the guy was in the fight for his life and due to some miracle he's on the road to recovery. There's speculation that all the 'junk' he might have taken during his time in professional wrestling could have taken a toll on him and may have taken his body on this spiral downfall. Any believers? I'm not so sure...I like to give people the benefit of the doubt first. Go ahead call me naive...
Okay, so Lesnar comes back this summer. He's likely to face the winner of the Carwin/Mir fight in March...if neither 'heal' in time for the summer, Lesnar will fight the winner of Velasquez/Noguiera in Feb. Damn! I can't wait for either of those two fights!
Mir has packed on the muscle through power lifting and maintained his agility and technical abilities. Carwin is raw power and improving his BJJ skills from what I've read. It's gonna be a match to watch in my opinion.
Velasquez is a smaller heavyweight wrestler, but he's like a bull dog. He's got the striking capabilities and learning a lot of bjj to go with his Division I wrestling background. Nog...well...he's got a superior striking advantage on Velasquez....awesome submission skills from BJJ...but dude has a lot of miles on his body and face. That is what worries me about Nog and if he can beat this 'hungry' up and comer.
Lesnar will have his hands full no matter who he faces out of this bunch. Who does he match up the best against? Man, it's really hard to say. Although Lesnar has been scary in his fights and is the champion, he doesn't have a long enough resume for us to really make that assessment...you think?
These four are the cream of the crop in the heavyweight division. All are well conditioned...powerful and quick...those attributes don't normally go together when describing the heavyweights in MMA in the past. Times are changing my friend...
