In my eyes, this is the start of some really exciting fight cards. I had to take my ‘bias’ hat off so I could fairly pick the Velasquez/Nogueira fight. Velasquez is an excellent wrestler with an improving Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and stand up game. I really don’t doubt that he can take Nog down with ease…the problem is what can he do to Nog that he hasn’t already seen and been able to defend against? If Cain decides to keep it standing, Nog has pretty solid boxing as well. If Nog is in trouble, you know he’ll quickly pull guard and try ti bait Cain. Will Cain’s inexperience take over and open him up to losing this match? Ahhh, I think it’s possible.

Normally, a fight like the Michael Bisping/Wanderlei Silva would be easy to call. An explosive knockout artist with superior BJJ skills like Silva would dominate the overrated type of Bisping…not only off skills alone but Silva is dropping back down to middleweight where he was most effective. Right? With that said, Silva has not been effective or his usual dominant self since he’s joined the UFC but his name and past reputation is what makes him still one of the most feared in any weight division he fights in…kinda like Mirko Filipovic. The Bisping/Silva fight is harder to call…I have a feeling that a possible upset could occur by Bisping but we could witness the second coming of Wanderlei Silva. If Silva comes in aggessive and overpowering, Bisping will not know how to react. I’m picking Silva.
