Just look at how Fedor slipped up and submitted to Werdum last week. Was he overconfident? Unprepared? Aging or just overrated? I've always thought he was overrated but that's me.
Fedor's loss last week was a lot more than just a match. He could have earned much more money if he signed with UFC where he could have gotten more exposure because of their better marketing than Strikeforce/K1. You know it's true. I don't know what his strategy was with fighting in Strikeforce...the talent is mediocre in comparison to UFC talent and the minimal talent goest down to their management and analysts as well. It's pathetic IMO. Fedor will/should get a rematch against Werdum and will probably knock him out, but the damage to his perceived dominance has been done. What's next in store for Fedor? Russian politics probably...
So who's the new #1 MMA Heavyweight? Don't say Brock Lesnar...sure he's the champ but a 4-1 record cannot give him that title can it? There are a lot of up and comers in the heavyweight leagues of MMA but no clearcut dominator...do you think?
All I know is with Jake Shields pretty much gone from Strikeforce and Fedor no longer the untouchable heavyweight, who is the main draw for Strikeforce? What's keeping them afloat and from facing doom like EliteXC and Affliction??? Defeat is imminent...
