Brittney Griner (6'8 player from Baylor University) punched Jordan Barncastle of Texas Tech after fighting for position just outside the paint. Griner is huge and has been dunkin on the regular. You remember Candace Parker of Tennessee and the hype that surrounded her cause she was able to dunk (dunking is rare in Women's basketball for those who don't know) Other than Parker, Lisa Leslie is the only other female I knew of that could dunk on a regulation hoop. This doesn't mean there aren't more but...well I don't know of many others.
Anyways, you got see this chick Griner throw a wild punch at Barncastle out of frustration. It's ridiculous and she should get punished to the max. I just heard someone on the radio say well, "It's women's basketball or she's a minority or this or that"...basically making excuses for her behavior. This shouldn't be tolerated in any sport male or female sport. This is poor sportsmanship in the worst form. You be the judge:
LeGarrette Blount, the running back from Oregon, threw that sucker punch at the Boise State player after the game was over because the dude was taunting him. Then the Blount tried going after the crowd. I have NO idea why they chose the reinstate the dude when they first reacted with a permanent suspension and now he was just in the NFL combine competing to get drafted. Ridiculous! A slap on the wrist is all it was...hopefully Griner gets what she deserved.
