Wow...I can't believe this is my first post about baseball and we're already about two months deep into the season. It's still early...my fantasy team is still intact...for now. Well there are some surprises...The Tampa Bay Devil Rays are hanging onto first in the AL East but commentators are still talking about how the Boston Red Sox are chasing the New York Yankees who are in second. Hmm...I guess all other teams in the league are irrelevant if they aren't Boston or NY. No surprise there.
The Cincinnati Reds are flip/flopping with St. Louis for 1st place in the NL Central, but it's still early in the season. Cincy is known to fizzle towards the end of the season; however, the Reds do have a very young and underrated team. Joey Votto brings the power and average that they've been seeking for sometime, and the starting pitching has been much improved.
All the talk in DC is how the Nationals are not dead last in the NL East and this is without their #1 draft pick, pitching phenom Stephen Strasburg. Strasburg has been dominating the Triple A teams he's faced and apparentely he's set to make his major league debut sometime in early June. Excited? I love the sport of baseball and can't wait to see how he does for the Nats. Here's a vid of one of Strasburg's recent outings:
He's definitely got some nasty stuff!
