RAW, A FAMILY SHOW? HAS MONDAY NIGHT RAW LOST ITS EDGE COMPLETELY?

Bob Barker hosted Monday Night RAW last night. Think about that for a minute. Would we see anything extreme? Anything controversial? Anything overly exciting?

You're right...none of the above.

Who else thought he was only there promoting his new book "Priceless Memories?" Was it that obvious? Well, I guess previous celebrity guest hosts used their time to do the same thing.

I'm not really going to recap the entire Monday Night RAW show from last night. I'm going to give a quick rundown on what I thought sucked badly.

Bob Barker...Bob Barker...Randy Orton...Hmm...yea...Bob Barker

The show opened up as if The Price is Right game show was going on with Howard Finkel acting as Rod Roddy (the late Price is Right announcer) and called down contestants which ended up being Santina Marella, IRS, Chris Jericho, and Jillian Hall. Each contestant got their chance to 'win' a prize that ended up in some form of wrestling match.

Chris Jericho did have a confrontation with Bob Barker that was pretty funny...almost to the point that I thought Barker was going to start shaking and die out of fear…well it didn’t happen and Barker actually held his own.

I just have one question...Has RAW really turned into a 'family' show? Since Monday Night RAW has changed its rating to 'PG,' it has toned down drastically and lost its edge. Last night, Santina Marella gets called out to the ring during the game show piece where he has a chance to 'win' a hot tub. Who else but the Bella Twins were in the hot tub in their bikinis! Santina makes a comment to Bob that he'd want to be meat in a Bella Twin soup or something like that to which Bob Barker replies with 'No, this is a family show!'

Sigh...it was just not funny having an 80+yr-old former game show host take the reigns of RAW and completely transform it into a big joke. Don't get me wrong...I loved Bob Barker as the host of the Price is Right, but he just wasn't right for this show.

Then Chavo, "The laughing stock of the WWE" Guerrero goes up to Barker all pissed he didn't get to win the Corvette. Barker punches Chavo in the stomach and does an Austin Powers judo chop to the back of Chavo's head. Are you shaking your head yet?

Lastly, Randy Orton...if you've read any of my weekly RAW posts, you might know of my disgust for this guy. He gets teamed up with Chris Masters and faces DX. After the match is over and DX takes their fight with Legacy out the building, Orton goes back into the ring to call out Cena. They go at it and Orton ends up delivering the RKO to Cena overtop of a steel chair. Orton's facial expressions and body language just disgusts me...he tries so hard to appear the bad guy through his ugly faces and robotic voice that it's painful to watch. He is talented at the skill portion of professional wrestling, but he lacks the charisma and mic skills that a Rock, Triple H, Stone Cold, or Ric Flair has possessed. I can't understand why he is still the WWE champ and why his reign is being stretched so long. The current RAW roster is just that bad right now...what do you think?
